While all eyes are on Team Cherry’s long-awaited sequel, a handful of other games are quietly launching alongside it.
After several long years, the much anticipated Hollow Knight: Silksong is finally here.
It's a launch that many developers have chosen to altogether avoid, opting to change their release date to avoid Team Cherry's clear Metroidvania behemoth. But, not all games are moving away from the September 4 launch.
So, if exploring the depths of Hallownest isn't for you, here's a look at what other options you've got today:
Jetrunner
Here's a colourful, fast-paced arcade style first-person shooter with parkour movement at its heart. It's rocks a cel-shaded comic-like visual style, and is curiously described as "Trackmania meets Titanfall". There's a demo available up on Steam too if you wanna take it for a spin.

Hell is Us
A third-person action adventure from Rogue Factor that sees you, armed with an ancient sword, carving your way through plagued "chimera-infested lands". A semi-open world to explore with plenty of melee combat along the way. There's a prequel comic book too that fleshes out the story.

Adventure of Samsara
A bold move to release another Metroidvania on the same day as Silksong? Maybe, but this reimagining of the Atari 2600 'Adventure' from 1980 seems to be well worth a look.
It's a 2D adventure packed with mystery that sees you tasked with reactivating an 'interdimensional fortress'. Steam Deck Verified too. I've gotta say Atari are doing interesting things of late with their back catalog.

Everybody's Golf Hot Shots
What was once the golfing experience on PlayStation is now a multi-platform slice of fairway fun. This new entry has a selection of new characters and courses to take on and has both single player and online multiplayer, complete with 'Wacky Golf'.

Casebook 1899
An atmospheric point and click detective adventure set in the late 19th-century. You explore Leipzig, Germany looking for clues and solving murder cases. Has a delightfully retro pixel-art look.

Other highlights arriving later this week include NBA 2k26, Daemon X Machina: Titanic Scion, Cronos: The New Dawn, and Shuten Order to name just a few.
